**The Role**:
The Interstate Area Manager will lead the Store Managers in their portfolio of stores across states (including Sydney, Adelaide and Perth) to achieve their sales goals and KPIs by implementing and ensuring the maintenance of exceptional customer service and operational standards, bringing the Koko Black Way to life every day.

You will enable your team to be the best they can be, with a strong focus on training, developing and providing feedback to your team to support their performance and growth.

The Interstate Area Manager reports to the GM Retail Operations. They spend most of their time in the field, connecting with the store teams to amplify their results, as well as being their first point of contact.

**Travel every 1 - 2 weeks is a key requirement of this role.**

**Key Responsibilities**

**Leadership**
- Lead by example, always demonstrating the Koko Black values.
- Maintain a presence on the sales floor, coaching and creating feedback loops to actively grow the stores and teams in your region.
- Identify opportunities for improvement with solutions-focus and provide constructive feedback to the Retail leadership team.
- Create region-specific strategies to consistently meet your monthly and quarterly objectives, aligned to business initiatives.
- Manage the budgets and profit and loss statements of your portfolio.
- Cascade business communications effectively to Store Managers using Koko Black communication methods, including Workplace.
- Regularly showcase work well done and development of teams on Workplace.
- Lead weekly calls for the region.

**Customer experience**
- Coach your team on best practice, embedding the Koko Black Steps of Service and our omni solutions in-store.
- Ensure all customer complaints and issues are responded to within 72 hours of complaint.

**Reporting**
- Analyse key metrics, including customer and team feedback, and provide guidance and coaching for each store to act on and achieve region goals.
- Use sales analysis and reports to create optimised and commercial shopping spaces.

**Recruitment and Onboarding**
- Recruit and onboard new Assistant Store Managers, ensuring they are set up for success.
- Proactively ensuring all stores are appropriately staffed, with enough time for recruitment and onboarding.

**Performance Management**
- Provide support to team members through consistent leadership and performance management.
- Build, develop and implement people strategies to support team development and retention.
- Create and deliver engaging tools and training to help team reach their KPIs.
- Complete performance reviews in line with business rhythm.

**Learning & Development**
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of employee learning in RapL and in store.
- Spend time in store to train, coach and develop team and managers.
- Implement comprehensive learning structures for retail teams in line with the 70/20/10 philosophy.
- Develop talent pipelines and future leaders by providing regular feedback to the team and creating meaningful development plans, with appropriate follow up action.

**Visual Merchandising**
- Oversee the implementation of all Visual Merchandising direction to timeframe and standard.
- Ensure campaigns are intentionally rolled out and in line with launch dates.

**Store Network**
- Assist in the management of all new store openings, relocations, renovations, and closures in your portfolio in conjunction with the Retail Operations Manager
- Manage repairs and maintenance and preventative maintenance across stores, and ensure works are completed on time and within budget, in conjunction with the Retail Operations Manager
- Manage compliance across areas including food safety, cash handling, OH&S and asset protection.
- Review and monitor store audits, create and follow up necessary actions.
- Review, monitor and update store trade hours quarterly and provide insights and recommendations to the retail leadership on suggested changes.

**General Compliance**
- Ensure 100% legislative compliance for all business practices through monitoring and proactive measures.
- Complete roster audits and ensure rosters are efficient and on budget weekly for review with retail leadership.
