Our client is one of South Australia's most successful structural steel fabricators, achieving outstanding success and recognition for the fabrication and erection of some of Australia's landmark structures. As they continue to grow and deliver a quality product further afield in other States, a recent position has become available for an experienced Logistics Coordinator.
**Some of the core responsibilities include**:
Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding work schedules and overcome delays/obstacles
Plan 24 hours ahead the logistics of the distribution of materials to site through internal means or outsourced
Coordinate and ensure safe loading practices are adhered to within the workshop and onto sub-contractors
Liaise with Project Managers and Site Managers keeping all parties updated on delivery schedules
Providing guidance and delegate tasks effectively to a small team of material handlers and fork-lift operators
Plan required resources in advance to ensure DIFOT
Ensure compliance of internal processing practices using state of the art technology
**Some of key requirements**:
A valid LF ticket (forklift)
Experience in a similar logistics role
Experience operating a forklift with materials exceeding 12m in length
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Excellent planning and contingency management skills
Experience and knowledge of the steel industry, advantageous but not necessary
The ability to work overtime, including Saturdays
Proactive and determined leadership skills
Good computer skills
Adaptive and flexible approach
