Summit Southern Cross Power (SSCP) is a subsidiary business of global powerhouse, Sumitomo and supports the operations of NewGen Power Kwinana (NPK). Located 30km south of Perth, NewGen Power Kwinana is one of Western Australia's largest and most advanced power plants. Using new technologies, we operate a 330MW, combined-cycle, gas-fired power station and have the capacity to supply 10 percent of the state's energy needs.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and fast learning Accounts Payable Officer to join our friendly team at our Perth Office on a part-time basis. In this role, you'll collaborate with the Finance team to ensure smooth and efficient accounts payable operations. You'll be responsible for end-to-end payment processing, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely account management in line with established procedures.
This position can be undertaken part-time or full-time, with flexibility to fit your lifestyle.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the General Manager of Finance & Accounting, the Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for:
Accounts Administration
· Support accounting staff with various accounts and administration duties.
· General processing, filing, scanning and photocopying of accounts documents.
· Recording inventory movement in MYOB.
· Respond to telephone enquiries relating to accounts. Investigate and resolve concerns and queries.
· Assist with processing EFT transactions and account bank reconciliation process when requested.
· Assist with preparation of weekly, monthly and year end reporting tasks as required.
· Prepare deposits for the bank.
· Maintain the corporate credit cards for the monthly payment cycle.
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
· Aid the timely and accurate data processing of invoices using MYOB.
· Collect invoices and match to their respective purchase orders.
· Maintenance of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Bank Management records.
· Prepare, raise and track outgoing payments and invoices.
Occasional travel to our NPK site in Kwinana may be required.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
· Demonstrated high levels of organisational, time management, and problem solving skills.
· Skill in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
· Experience with MYOB, MEX and Adobe Acrobat is an advantageous.
· High level of accuracy, attention to detail.
· Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
