Our Client
An established, high-performing commercial property business operating across Melbourne’s South East is seeking a commercially sharp Chief Operating Officer to help lead the business through its next phase of growth.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Founders, the COO is responsible for the day-to-day operational and commercial performance of the business and acts as the engine room behind sustainable growth.
You will own financial and operational outcomes across the group, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, margins and profitability. A key focus will be lifting the quality, cadence and usefulness of reporting so leadership decisions are grounded in clear data and commercial insight.
* Lead the integration and optimisation of operations across sales, leasing, property management and administration, bringing consistency, accountability and discipline to how the business runs.
* Review, refine and implement systems, processes and controls, including CRM and technology platforms, to improve efficiency, performance and scalability.
* Help reduce silos, strengthen leadership capability, and guide the business through the evolution from founder-led decision-making to a more mature, sustainable operating model.
About You
This role will suit a commercially minded operator who thrives in hands‑on environments and has experience helping founder‑led or entrepreneurial businesses scale. You are likely already operating as a COO, General Manager or senior operational leader and are comfortable owning P&L performance. You bring strong financial acumen, a track record of introducing structure and rigour, and the judgement to balance growth with control. Experience in professional or business services such as commercial property, recruitment, marketing, accounting or legal will be well regarded.
You lead with credibility and influence, are calm under pressure, and can drive change in a relationship‑driven, sales‑focused culture without disrupting what works. Tertiary qualifications in business, finance or a related field are advantageous but not essential.
Why Consider This Role
This is a rare opportunity to step into a profitable, respected business at a genuine inflection point. You will partner closely with engaged Founders, have real authority to shape how the business operates, and play a defining role in driving performance, culture and long‑term sustainability.
