The Sustainable Energy Division (SED) at the Department of Mining and Energy is dedicated to developing, advocating, and implementing policies and reforms in the electricity industry and sustainable energy sector to support secure, reliable and affordable energy for all Territorians.
As the Executive Director, you will bring a depth of expertise in strategic planning, resource management, and executing complex projects and policy initiatives. Your leadership skills and proven track record in driving sectoral reforms and achieving organisational outcomes are crucial. In addition, you will lead the facilitation of private sector projects in electricity and sustainable energy domains, inspire high-performing teams, manage multiple priorities effectively, and thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
Success in the role hinges on your in-depth knowledge of both local and national electricity and sustainable energy landscapes, outstanding communication skills, and extensive experience in the developing, implementing and evaluating market-driven initiatives and economic strategies. Your executive level leadership qualities and adept resource management, coupled with your high-level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills will be instrumental in shaping energy policy and market evolution across the Territory. Your talent for translating intricate technical and industry issues into clear, evidence-based policies and strategies, and your ability to simplify and communicate complex information will be critical to informing sound government decision-making and delivering real-world outcomes across the energy sector.
Tertiary qualifications in economics, electrical engineering, law, public policy, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
