About the role
This is a full-time role based in Murray Bridge South, South Australia, working for the Murray Bridge Racing Club Inc. primarily as Racecourse Groundsperson. You will be responsible for maintaining the racecourse and associated grounds to a high standard, ensuring the venue is well-presented and secure for racing and other events. This role may also be extended to assist with our Equine Swimming Pool & Trackwork Supervision in which training would be provided.
What you'll be doing
- Track & garden maintenance including but not restricted to knocking back divots, sanding, mowing, slashing, rail movements and repairs
- Assisting with the preparation of the racecourse for race meetings and other events
- Ensuring the grounds are clean, tidy and well-presented at all times
- Operating and maintaining various grounds maintenance equipment and machinery
- Identifying and addressing any issues or hazards on the racecourse
- Supporting the broader grounds and facilities team as required
- Some weekend work is required for racedays and some rostered weekend work
What we're looking for
- Reliability and a great work ethic and some flexibility.
- Relevant experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture or a similar role
- Knowledge of safe operating procedures for grounds maintenance equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good physical fitness and stamina
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
- A current C Class driver's licence
