The Assistant Director - Capability and Shortfall will be responsible for providing technical and policy input to assist in delivering core responsibilities, including continuous improvement in river operations governance, practices and procedures.
Key areas of focus include ensuring the delivery of environmental water, developing innovative solutions to emerging issues affecting the management of the River Murray, and contributing to the implementation of the Basin Plan.
The successful candidate will liaise and collaborate with colleagues across all levels of Government, as well as water resource managers, scientific and technical experts, industry bodies and other stakeholders on issues relating to the work of the team.
Papers and briefs will be prepared for high-level committees, including the Authority, Ministerial Council and the Basin Officials Committee. Additionally, projects and consultancies will be managed as required to ensure outcomes are met on time and to budget according to established procedures.
