About Our Client
Our client is a large Australian owned company with branches located in South Australia, Western Australia, and Queensland, a sister company in Victoria. They are a reliable source for all of your freezing, cooling or heating requirements including commercial refrigeration or air conditioning systemsand they focus revolves around design, innovation, and achieving results.
What You Will Be Doing
As a 2nd year refrigeration mechanic apprentice, you will continue building on your foundational skills while taking on more responsibility in day-to-day tasks. Under the supervision of a qualified tradesperson, your role involves:
* Assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
* Diagnosing basic faults in refrigeration and HVAC systems using tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
* Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance tasks.
* Learning and applying safe practices for handling refrigerants and pressurised systems.
* Assisting with brazing, soldering, and pipework installation to industry standards.
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and job specifications.
* Keeping work areas clean, organised, and compliant with WHS regulations.
* Recording service and maintenance activities for reporting and compliance purposes.
* Communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, and sometimes clients.
* Continuing to study and complete theory components related to the apprenticeship.
What You Will Need
To be successful in this role, you will need to to be in your second year of your or mechanical apprenticeship You will also need:
* Apprentice Refrigeration Mechanic
* Manual Drivers License and own vehicle
* Elevated Working Platform Ticket
* Up tp date with Tafe/Examplar
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
