The opportunity
We are seeking a highly capable Finance & HR Manager to take full ownership of both the Finance and Human Resources functions in a standalone role.
This is a hands-on, autonomous position suited to a senior professional who enjoys variety, accountability and contributing strategically to a values-driven organisation. You will play a critical role in supporting business performance, compliance and people outcomes.
This role is offered on a permanent part-time basis (3 days per week) with hybrid working available by agreement.

Key responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
* End-to-end management of the accounting function with a strong focus on business performance and profitability
* Preparation of accurate month-end financial accounts, including analysis and recommendations
* Annual budgeting and regular forecasting in collaboration with Directors
* Cash flow management and forecasting
* Tax and statutory compliance (GST, FBT, Payroll Tax, Income Tax, ASIC)
Human Resources
* Full responsibility for the HR function including recruitment, onboarding, contracts and exits
* Development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures
* Performance reviews, professional development, employee relations, staff engagement & wellbeing initiatives
* Workplace compliance and employment legislation oversight
Payroll & Compliance
* Payroll processing and compliance (STP, super, payroll tax) across all states
* Maintenance of employee records in line with Fair Work and privacy requirements
Insurance, IT & Office Administration
* Management of insurance renewals, policies and claims
* Coordination with outsourced IT providers
* Oversight of office requirements and landlord liaison

About you
You are a confident, experienced professional who thrives in an independent role and enjoys being a trusted advisor to leadership.
You will bring:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
* CPA or CA qualification
* 10+ years' senior accounting experience
* Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax, payroll and compliance
* Demonstrated HR management experience including employment law and performance management
* Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach
* High levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion
* Advanced skills in accounting and payroll systems – experience with Xero is a bonus
* Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel and financial reporting tools
* Proven ability to work independently
* Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
* Highly organised, detail-focused and confident working independently
