Role Overview: Flinders Port Holdings is entering the delivery phase of major land development projects at Outer Harbor and Inner Harbour, supporting a 50-year Masterplan and enabling critical port and supply chain infrastructure to drive increased trade.
The Construction Supervisor plays a key on-site leadership role, overseeing day-to-day construction activities across civil, building, and utilities workstreams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to quality and budget standards. Acting as the primary link between external developers and contractors, stakeholders, and the Flinders Ports Senior Project Manager, the Construction Supervisor coordinates site operations, manages risks, ensures compliance with WHS and contractual requirements, and resolves on-site issues to achieve successful project outcomes.
This role is a 3 year fixed term contract and reports to the Executive General Manager Commercial.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate contractors on-site to ensure works meet approved plans, specifications, and methodologies;
* Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and safety standards through site inspections, toolbox talks and pre start meetings;
* Monitor progress, track against program, and report delays, risks, and recovery opportunities;
* Identify, manage, and escalate site issues, risks, incidents, and non-conformances;
* Review and verify contractor claims, variations, and delivery milestones; and
* Oversee quality, site records, and support commissioning, handover, and stakeholder coordination.
About You
Your skills and experience will include;
* Valid driver's licence;
* White Card (Construction Induction);
* Trade qualification, construction management qualification, engineering qualification, or equivalent practical experience in construction supervision;
* Experience supervising large-scale construction or infrastructure projects;
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, contractor management, and WHS compliance;
* Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, programs, and contracts, with sound risk management skills;
* Ability to interpret quality specifications, and witness and sign engineering and construction hold points; and
* Excellent communication, stakeholder coordination, and attention to detail.
