Volunteer General Hand - Vinnies Return & Earn Recycling Centre (Griffith)
Vinnies Return and Earn Recycling Centre
The Return and Earn scheme is the way forward in recycling in NSW. We are the ultimate recyclers of clothing, bric‑a‑brac, and furniture, and also recycle bottles and cans. This role is vital to generate revenue for our broad range of services supporting the community.
As a Volunteer General Hand, you will play a central role in the operations of the recycling centre, making a significant and valuable contribution to the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW.
The Volunteer Role
The Volunteer General Hand will perform a variety of tasks including:
- Meet and greet new customers and guide them through the return & earn process.
- Provide customers with an excellent experience.
- Receive and process donated bottles and cans.
- Perform general warehousing tasks.
- Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and maintain safe work practices.
The volunteers we are seeking will ideally:
- Be a people person: welcoming, encouraging, and positive.
- Be willing to work within the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society.
- Be respectful of others and flexible in their attitude to work and the team.
- Be able to take direction and contribute positively to the overall running of the Return & Earn Centre.
Previous warehousing experience would be highly regarded, as would a current, valid forklift license.
In-house coaching and training is provided.
