Significant strategic initiatives are already in progress and as we enter the third year of strategy implementation, the University must continue to successfully deliver numerous initiatives, programs, and projects to achieve our 2032 goals. The Head of Program Partnering provides delivery leadership and expertise in strategic and transformational programs for the University. Leading a team of experienced delivery experts that work closely with UE sponsors to ensure programs are delivering agreed outcomes, the Head of Partnering is an essential senior role within the Strategic Program Office. This role will lead our Portfolio Partners and Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that project fundamentals and quality standards are managed effectively across the University’s program investment portfolio. This support role also includes challenge components, providing an independent view of how programs are progressing. They would use their deep delivery knowledge and experience, supported by accurate and insightful program data, to highlight areas of concern and recommend remediation activities to lower delivery risk. They would also support accountable sponsors to continually define opportunities in their programs to deliver outcomes that contribute to the realisation of the University’s strategic aspirations. This role will contribute to portfolio prioritisation and oversee the implementation of multiple complex, varied and integrated programs, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment of teams to meet the University Executives (UE) objectives of the 2032 Strategy. Working closely with the Heads of Program Insights, Program Support and Program Change and Dependencies, this role will contribute to the objective of the Strategic Program Office which is to be a key enabler and driver for the University to both successfully deliver strategic programs and continually improve its institutional capability to do so. Your key responsibilities will be to: establish and lead the Program Partner team to support and improve the successful delivery of the University’s projects and programs, specifically for the 2032 Strategy and broader project portfolio build strong working relationships across the Strategic Program Office, broader VP Strategy Portfolio, UE and their delivery teams to ensure the objectives of the Strategic Program Office are met and stakeholders value the service provided provide leadership, direction, advice and advocacy across the University at a senior leadership level, to define and support the delivery of projects and initiatives to realise the objectives of the business adopt and implement a continuous improvement culture to ensure a consistent and effective approach to portfolio, program and project management and delivery – collaborating with other university PMOs to establish a consistent approach to resource management and project delivery provide leadership, guidance and independent views to the VP Strategy, Director Strategic Program Office, senior leadership and UE about the health and trajectory of projects and programs of work under the 2032 Strategy and broader University portfolio. About you bachelor’s degree and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience significant experience and success negotiating and influencing senior stakeholders with diverse interests on a large complex program significant experience in the management of complex development projects/programs, including a demonstrated track record of on time and on budget delivery performance. Extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of feasibilities, concept development, financial modelling and business case preparation experience in student accommodation development type projects is highly desirable. extensive knowledge of Portfolio and Product Management aligning strategy and execution via systems thinking approaches.
