Our team is looking for a versatile and motivated lawyer. Existing experience in several of the following areas will be viewed favourably: statutory interpretation, regulatory responses (eg ICAC, SafeWork NSW), public interest disclosure, privacy and GIPA, or other regulatory compliance. This is not essential where you can demonstrate an ability to proactively and rapidly acquire the required knowledge.
What you'll do
* Work closely with senior lawyers and a multi-disciplinary team, as well as autonomously, to guide legal strategy and policy;
* Undertake administrative activities and research allocated within established standards, procedures, policies and delegations;
* Assist with a wide range of civil, anti-discrimination and commercial related requests for advice, as well as with litigated claims, disputes and agreements for CSNSW;
* Work closely with the Department of Communities and Justice to review, prepare and negotiate a wide range of agreements and to advise on a diverse range of matters;
* Coordinate sensitive legal communications with precision, ensuring confidentiality and high standards of accuracy across all documentation;
* Draft ministerial and other briefing notes and related materials;
* Provide complex legal advice on CSNSW operations, including on regulatory and strategic matters; and
* Provide high-quality legal services in a high-volume work environment, in accordance with instructions and timeframes.

* Legal Qualifications and eligibility to hold a practising certificate as a Government legal practitioner issued by the NSW Law Society.
* Current and valid Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
* Where required hold a National Security Clearance at the appropriate level in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
