The role
Consumer Protection is growing its newly established Commissioner Determinations team to implement key aspects of recent legislative reforms designed to enable tenants to make their rental a home and to provide an accessible and streamlined alternative to court for bond disputes.
As the Manager Determinations, you will lead and manage Determinations teams in both Perth and the regional office and support the management to ensure that objectives and strategic outcomes of the branch are met. You will undertake complex and sensitive determination activities and provide operational advice to the team on challenging issues to ensure alignment with Departmental values and the legislative framework.
We are currently looking for a strategic leader who has experience translating strategic objectives into operational activities to support business outcomes. Your skills and experience in interpreting and applying legislation and policy and in exercising judgement and procedural fairness in a complex environment will be key to your success in this role. You will also bring to the team your excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to liaise with a diverse range of people on complex and sensitive matters.
Minimum Requirements
* Demonstrated experience in effectively leading and managing teams, with the ability to apply this to a team based across multiple locations.
* Demonstrated extensive experience in interpreting and applying legislation and policy, and in exercising judgement and procedural fairness in a complex environment.
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.
