Job Title
A Mental Health Clinician is required to provide assessment, formulation and evidence-based individual and family interventions in the treatment of serious mental health problems in young people.
Join our multidisciplinary team to deliver specialist care for young people aged 12-24 presenting to headspace Chatswood and Brookvale services with moderate to severe mental health needs but not meeting the threshold for NSLHD community CYMHS or adult mental health services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess and formulate cases involving young people with emerging or first episode psychosis; and adolescents aged 12-17 with other moderate to severe mental health concerns requiring enhanced specialist, multidisciplinary, and systemic intervention.
* Develop and implement individualized plans for young people using evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, attachment-based therapies, and family therapy.
* Collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists and primary care providers.
* Provide clinical consultancy, effective communication, partnership development and negotiation with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience as per clinical discipline and current AHPRA registration (or eligibility for membership of AASW for Social Workers).
* Extensive knowledge, skills and experience in providing assessment, formulation and evidence-based individual and family interventions such as CBT, DBT, attachment-based therapies, and family therapy in the treatment of serious mental health problems in young people and/or early intervention for first episode psychosis for young people aged 12-24.
* Demonstrated skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and collaboratively with external partnerships/ stakeholders with excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
