As the Head of Department, you will:
* Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives
* Participate in delivering the vision of Early Childhood and State Schools Division
* Develop the quality of teaching and learning
* Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
The Head of Department is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department - Science, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Lead the strategic planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Science curriculum across Years 7-12, aligned with the Australian Curriculum and school priorities.
* Support, mentor, and develop Science faculty staff through instructional leadership, professional learning, and collaborative planning.
* Use data-driven approaches to monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement targeted strategies to lift student achievement and engagement.
* Foster a culture of innovation, scientific inquiry, and high expectations within the department, promoting inclusive and equitable learning for all students.
* Collaborate with school leadership and other faculties to contribute to whole-school initiatives and build strong cross-curricular connections.
