Established in 1994, Pilbara Meta Maya Regional Aboriginal Corporation (PMMRAC) is a not-for-profit organisation which delivers essential services (power, water and municipal) and community services (environmental health, housing and accommodation facilities) to remote Aboriginal communities across the Pilbara, Gascoyne, and Mid-West regions of Western Australia.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter with power generation experience to join our team on a FIFO 3:2 roster. This is a unique opportunity to experience the WA outback, connect with local communities, and be part of a values-driven team making a real difference.
Working as part of a two-person crew alongside an electrician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and reliability of remote diesel generator power systems, ensuring continuous power supply to regional communities.
* Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel generators, including multi-engine systems.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in power generation systems.
* Carry out emergency repairs and breakdown assistance as required.
* Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and industry standards.
* Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
* Assist with quotes and tenders.
* Communicate effectively with communities, contractors, and team member.
About You
* Relevant Trade Qualifications.
* Medium Rigid (MR) Licence (HR Licence preferred).
* Current CPR, LVR, and First Aid certifications.
* Experience with modern electronically controlled diesel engines (e.g., Hino, Volvo, Caterpillar, Scania).
* Proven experience with automated multi-engine power stations.
* Strong analytical, time management, and communication skills.
* Current National Police Check
