Title:- Cyber Security Risk Lead Length:- Permanent Location:- Sydney Salary:- Around $130k + $140k + Super Cyber Risk / Cybersecurity Lead Consultant A senior consulting role leading cyber risk assessments, advisory services and uplift programs for Not-for-Profit organisations across Australia.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with practical, people-centred problem solving.
Role Overview You will take ownership of cyber engagements end-to-end - assessing risks, developing recommendations, improving governance and helping strengthen their overall security resilience.
You'll act as the senior practitioner, setting delivery standards, shaping methodology and ensuring consistent, scalable practices as the cyber function grows.
Key Responsibilities Conduct cyber risk assessments and provide clear, actionable recommendations Advise on governance, policy, security controls and uplift planning Lead incident-readiness and third-party risk management activities Develop or refine security policies, procedures and governance artefacts Support alignment with industry standards and frameworks Contribute to business development and help design tailored client solutions Build team capability through coaching, knowledge-sharing and quality oversight Support strategic initiatives, including work addressing technology-facilitated abuse Stay current on best practice, emerging threats and sector-specific risks Experience Needed 5-7 years in cyber, information security or technology risk Consulting or client-facing delivery experience Exposure to coaching, mentoring or leading others What You Bring A strong ability to explain complex security concepts simply, build trust with stakeholders and translate technical controls into practical, risk-based advice that works for resource-constrained environments.
