The Assistant Director, Communications is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes.
The position is an important team leadership position and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. It will provide the leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for its team.

- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of influential communications
- Mentor and guide a small team of communications professionals
- Drive the creation, delivery and review of communications and engagement
- Identify and embed opportunities for continuous improvement in communications and engagement activities and processes
- Identify and mitigate reputational risks
- Become a trusted and reliable partner to stakeholders
- Build new internal and external networks to facilitate the development and delivery of effective, targeted and timely communications activities
- Identify new opportunities for knowledge sharing within the Communications Branch
