Timber Building Systems (TBS) is redefining what's possible in construction. Our precision-engineered, prefabricated timber building systems are used in schools, designer homes, mid-rise residential developments and large-scale commercial projects throughout Australia. We design and manufacture everything at our advanced facility in Melbourne—then deliver fast, safe and high-quality installations on sites across the country.
We're now hiring an Onsite Construction Manager to take full leadership of installation activities across three major projects in Tweed Heads, Tamworth and Canberra. This is a newly created role and a critical delivery position inside a growing organisation with a genuine long-term future.

The Role
Based onsite most weeks (and full-time during critical installation windows), you'll lead the complete installation of prefabricated buildings delivered to site from our Melbourne facility.
You will:
Lead Onsite Installations
Supervise installation of prefabricated residential and commercial builds
Keep your Install Crew and all site personnel safe—every minute of every day
Ensure all safety systems, documentation and procedures are followed
Assess crew capability, assign work and coach skill development
Build a strong team culture built on communication, consistency and accountability
Ensure installations are completed safely, on time, on budget and to quality spec
Coordinate Projects & Site Logistics
Manage installation budgets across projects
Procure and coordinate cranes, traffic management and hired equipment
Assist with permits and prepare required safety documentation
Supervise installation work and coordinate inspections
Troubleshoot post-installation issues, defects and warranty items
Deliver daily progress reports to the Head Office team
Plan crew schedules, work hours, travel and installation sequencing
Contribute to TBS's continuous improvement across installation processes

About You
You'll thrive in this role if you are:
A proven onsite leader
You have 3+ years' recent experience in one or more of the following roles:
Onsite Construction Manager
Owner/operator of a building business
You know how to build a high-performing crew, maintain safety standards, set expectations clearly and drive quality outcomes.
Technically strong
You can interpret drawings, follow installation instructions, perform progressive quality checks and solve onsite problems quickly and logically.
Organised and reliable
You're methodical, plan ahead, prioritise effectively and stay composed under pressure.
You communicate clearly, collaborate well with internal teams and external partners, and build trust with your crew.
