Plan Safe is a boutique safety and human factors consultancy delivering end-to-end safety systems design, management and implementation for some of the most complex and fascinating projects in Australian rail and aerospace, including Inland Rail, Sydney Metro, TfNSW Digital Systems Program, Queensland Train Manufacturing Program, OneSKY and Western Sydney Airport.
Given this, we're growing. Plan Safe is looking for a motivated Human Factors Engineer who wants to be part of a high performance and sought after Human Factors team, who are contributing to the future of infrastructure and transport in Australia.
The role:
As part of the day to day tasks of the role, you will:
• Create and review Human Factors Integration Plans for client projects that address the full system lifecycle
• Develop and review Human Factors Assurance Reports
• Input to justification of achievement of Safety So Far As is Reasonably Practicable (SFAIRP)
• Develop, manage and review Human Factors Issues Registers associated with various projects
• Participate in hazard identification and assessments such as PHA, SHA, FMECA, HAZOP etc
• Engage in the derivation of Humam Factors related requirements and in Verifying and Validating them through relevant project lifecycle stages
About you:
The following qualifications and experience are necessary for this position:
• Relevant degree in psychology, human factors, or engineering
• At least 2 years' experience working in Human Factors
• Experience working in a Human Factors role within rail, aviation or defence industries
• Experience with Rollingstock, Air Traffic Management Systems, Drones or control systems
• Authoring and editing Human Factors Assurance Plans
• Demonstrated experience in the application of HF standards such as AS7470, FAA HF-STD-001, MIL-STD-1472 etc
• Thorough understanding of Australian safety related legislation such as WHS, Rail Safety and CASR
• High level communication and negotiation skills, including advanced report writing skills
