Casual Maintenance Officer - South Coast (with regular Fridays in Gerringong) $31.51 per hour + 25% casual loading = $39.39/hour + 12% Superannuation
Ongoing Fridays + Additional Casual Shifts to Cover Leave

An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled Maintenance Officer or experienced Handyperson to support Uniting's aged care services across the beautiful NSW South Coast, with a guaranteed regular Friday shift at our Gerringong facility and additional casual hours available to cover team leave as needed.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, is highly organised, and takes pride in ensuring buildings and grounds are maintained to a safe, compliant, and homelike standard.

What you'll be doing

• Perform timely planned and reactive maintenance to buildings, plant, equipment and grounds
• Undertake property repairs, safety checks and upkeep of facilities across multiple Uniting sites
• Ensure work is compliant with WHS standards and internal policies
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, staff and families - always showing empathy and understanding
• Support safe, sustainable and high‐quality service delivery through well‐maintained environments

Who we're looking for – Essential

• Proven experience in a similar maintenance or trade‐based role
• Trade qualification or equivalent experience in property/facilities maintenance
• Solid knowledge of WHS obligations and maintenance compliance standards
• Familiarity with contractor engagement and oversight
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound computer literacy and willingness to use maintenance systems
• Current NSW Driver's Licence

Even better

• Experience working in aged care or retirement living environments
• Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) – training available if required
• Ability to adapt across multiple sites with confidence and initiative

You'll need to have (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and be up to date with COVID‐19 vaccinations.
