DBC Farming Pty Ltd is a grower of Avocados, Mangoes and Limes, located in Dimbulah Queensland. We are a young dynamic business that has a passion for agriculture.
Salary-from $69000 plus superannuation
Operational Responsibilities:
· Operate farm machinery and equipment to plant, harvest, fertilise
and spray fruit.
· Managing the farm machinery and equipment
· Generating general data
· Water and fuel pump readings
· General stock take.
· Record keeping of operational information such as water usage,
logbooks, spray, and fertilizer to monitor growth and productivity.
· Keep maintenance records and perform regular maintenance on
equipment used on the farm, such as tractors, harvesters, and
pruning tools, to keep them in good working condition.
· Neatness and tidiness of maintenance areas as well as on the farm
and equipment.
· Daily checks and services for the chemical application on trees to
limit the spreading of weeds, insects, and diseases.
· Use pruning tools to trim fruit trees to improve crops and quality.
· Install and maintain irrigation systems on the farm in order to ensure
sufficient water supply for the fruit trees.
· Supervise machines, equipment, dams, waterways, buildings etc.
· Productivity of the farm and equipment.
· Stock monitoring of Fertiliser, Irrigation, Fuel, farm equipment and
chemicals.
· Harvesting fruit ensuring the picking of fruit is effective and done by
the specified size and ripeness to make sure it's the correct quality for
markets.
Skills and Experiences:
We are looking for someone with
· 1- 3 years' experience in a similar position as well as a proven record
of skills and knowledge in agriculture/horticulture.
· Have considerable experience, fundamental knowledge, and skills in
farm operation.
· Trustworthy person who can be relied upon.
· Be a responsible person who can work in a team environment.
· Ability to use farming tools and equipment for harvesting and
pruning.
· Knowledge of pesticides, insecticides, and fungicides used on farm
· Enthusiastic, professional attitude and understanding of the
objectives of DBC Farming.
