Emergency Resilience Project Officer

Temporary Full-time until 31 December 2026
Band 6 - $89,780 - $97,724 yearly, plus 12% statutory
superannuation
Wellington Shire Council is seeking
an individual who has high level project management, communication and
stakeholder engagement skills to join the Emergency Management team as the
Emergency Resilience Project Officer in a temporary full-time basis.
As the Emergency Resilience Project
Officer, you will use your project management and problem-solving skills to
deliver emergency management projects to strengthen community resilience,
preparedness, and capabilities.
You will excel in this role if you have:
* Project Management experience:Proven
experience in successfully managing and delivering community projects with a
focus on upgrades to community infrastructure.
* Stakeholder Skills:Demonstrated
ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders, including community
groups, facility managers and contractors, to deliver projects within scope and
budget.
* Time Management:The
ability to demonstrate initiative, effectively plan to meet strict deadlines
and manage competing priorities.
* Communication Skills:Excellent
written and verbal communication skills and an ability to develop and maintain
relevant reports and documentation.
* Team Work:Experience in working as a
member of a team within an emergency management context.
Key responsibilities
* Engage with high-risk
communities to deliver initiatives to increase community emergency
preparedness.
* Undertake Emergency Management related projects
in line with project management principles and best practices
* Deliver projects to update community
infrastructure with essential sustainable assets and tools to reduce disaster
risk to allow communities to be better prepared and more resilient to plan for
and recover from emergencies.
* Engage with and support communities
to be better prepared for future events by utilising community facilities and
infrastructure, improving their resilience and ability to respond to and
recover from emergencies and supporting each other.
* Communicate and provide advice to
internal and external stakeholders, including community organisations to
achieve adopted outcomes.
