Primary objective
As a member of the Medical Services Recruitment Team, co-ordinate the recruitment of prevocational medical staff,
including Interns, Registered Medical Officers (RMOs) and International Medical Graduates. Assist with induction,
orientation and rostering programs as required.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage and facilitate recruitment processes for prevocational medical staff including secondments from teaching
hospitals.
2. In conjunction with Director of Clinical Training and Medical Education Unit, assist with and facilitate induction and
orientation programs for prevocational medical staff as required.
3. Monitor and advise on prevocational medical staffing levels.
4. Provide advice and documentation in relation to recruitment and conditions of service.
5. Provide statistical information in relation to recruitment turnover and service requirements.
6. Provide assistance to junior medical staff to ensure travel and accommodation arrangements are made and process
associated payments accordingly.
7. Facilitate and monitor medical board registration for prevocational medical staff.
8. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. High-level knowledge of government staff recruitment including advertising processing and contract conditions.
2. Ability to assist in the development, delivery and facilitation of the induction and orientation requirements of medical
recruits
3. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
4. Proven ability to deliver quality customer service with basic pastoral care, including the need for objectivity, patience,
impartiality and fairness.
5. Working knowledge of government financial processes and legislation.
6. Well-developed knowledge of Cross-cultural communication and interaction
7. Successful membership of a specialist team, preferably in HR/recruitment.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including PSEMA, Enterprise Agreements, Information Act.
