We're looking for an AI-native software developer.
Not someone who has simply used LLMs, but someone who thinks with them.
You are the kind of developer who experiments constantly, builds quickly, tests ideas in code rather than slides, and understands how modern AI systems actually behave in the real world. You work fast, but not carelessly. You care deeply about building reliable products, rather than just clever demos.
We're building technology that turns compliance — traditionally a constraint — into a source of competitive advantage. That means solving difficult real-world problems where accuracy matters and the stakes are high. The systems we build must be thoughtful, reliable, and ethically based.
And ideally, you're excited by the idea that the work you do here will matter — because we're changing how organisations realise success.
Tech stack (current / prospective):
* Backend: Java (Spring Boot), microservices architecture
* Data: MySQL, structured + unstructured data pipelines
* Cloud & infra: AWS, Terraform
* AI layer: LLM APIs (e.g. Claude, OpenAI), RAG, evaluation pipelines
* Frontend (nice to have): Angular
We're looking for someone who:
* Has 3+ years building production software (ideally SaaS)
* Is strong in backend engineering (APIs, services, distributed systems)
* Has experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar)
* Has built with LLMs beyond prompting — e.g. RAG, structured outputs, eval loops, or similar patterns
* Understands how to design systems that combine probabilistic AI with deterministic software

We are now building the next generation of compliance product using modern LLM-based architectures. What makes this opportunity unusual is that we are not guessing about the problem: we understand the domain in depth, we have real users and real feedback, and we are applying the latest AI capabilities to a challenge that is genuinely difficult and commercially significant. * This is a full time role but we will consider alternatives such as contract or part time (on a minimum expectation of, say, 20 hours per week)
* Being based in Sydney, our preference is for a Sydney-based candidate but realistically we will consider (in order of preference):
o someone based elsewhere in Australia
o someone based in a similar time zone
o someone outstanding outside that range
* For those based locally, there is freedom to work from home (save for occasional or important meetings and get togethers)
