About the Role
* We are seeking a skilled Commercial Manager to provide strategic commercial support to our Business Units within the Australia Sector.
* This role is pivotal in establishing new commercial arrangements (pre-contract award) and managing existing contracts (post-contract award), ensuring commercial excellence across the organisation.
As a Commercial Manager, You Will:
* Lead the review, development, and negotiation of new commercial arrangements, including the evaluation of commercial risks.
* Collaborate with the Procurement Lead to develop subcontracts that appropriately flow down prime contract requirements.
* Review and draft commercial documents such as contract amendments, NDAs, R&D and innovation contracts, and intercompany agreements.
* Support project teams with contract execution, issue resolution, and contract close-out at the end of contract performance.
* Promote a culture of compliance, risk awareness, and proactive commercial management.
* Facilitate the commercial review and approval process, escalating to the appropriate delegate as required.
* Advise on approval and execution procedures in line with our delegation of authority framework.
* Ensure document control by managing records and uploading documents to our Contract Management System.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to Commercial Officers to support professional development and capability growth.
About You
* You are a commercially astute professional with strong contract negotiation and risk management skills.
* Bring a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and excel in stakeholder engagement across all levels.
Key Requirements:
* A Bachelor Degree in a commercial field, such as business, accounting, law or a related field.
* Strong experience gained in managing analysing, developing and negotiating contracts (Defence industry or similar).
* Relevant experience working in a commercial contracting environment, ideally with experience in both the pre- and post-contract award stages.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across multiple stakeholders.

* Applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
