About the role:
The Human Resources Manager – Australia will lead the HR function in the Australian offices, including application of Firm policies, processes and procedures. The role will provide guidance to office personnel regarding all aspects of the employee life cycle and will participate and collaborate with the HR team on programs and initiatives across the Firm-wide offices.
Responsibilities:
* Provides support on all HR related matters such as remuneration, benefits and the evaluation process, employee relations, HRIS, payroll, leave management, recruitment, performance management, and workplace health and safety.
* Recommends and implements policies and procedures for all Australian office personnel.
* Conducts orientation and oversees the on-boarding and off-boarding of staff.
* Provides guidance and training on employee management and coaching.
* Participates and collaborates on Firm-wide project initiatives, such as job analysis, employee engagement and recognition programs and diversity, pro bono, and charitable initiatives.
* Maintains local personnel files and processes employee records, and insurances.
* Provides HR reporting and employee analytics as required.
* Stays up-to-date on all labour laws and industry news.
* Assists with the design and delivery of internal communications and team events.
About You:
* Located in either Sydney or Melbourne you have a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2+ years of HR experience, ideally in large or mid-size law firm with multiple offices.
* You demonstrate effective and excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to diagnose problems and identify appropriate interventions.
* Must possess effective interpersonal skills, analytical skills, time management, conflict resolution, and a proven record of influence and interactions at all levels of an organisation
* Ability to set priorities in an efficient manner
* Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment
* Excellent computer proficiency in programs such as Workday, Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), ChromeRiver, etc.
