Site Based 5/2 DIDO Role

CGC Recruitment are working with an existing client who are a leading Tier 2 Civil Contractor who deliver multidisciplinary Civil Engineering projects ranging from $5ml right up to $100ml.
They have a proven reputation for winning and delivering projects based on reputation and constructability solutions in oppose to just "price" which gives their staff a balanced working culture and security of work, either tendering or out on projects.
They have recently been awarded a $80ml Road Infrastructure project located 2 hours West of Brisbane and are in the market for a Commercial Manager to join the team on a full time basis and oversee all contractual deliverables on the project. On a day to day basis your role will focus on sub-contract management, contract management and commercial management. Within these three areas you will assess claims, negotiate variations, report forecasts, assess tenders, prepare cost plans and assist with estimating and auditing.
For the first 9 months this role will be a site based position in a regional area around 2 hours Drive West of Brisbane so during that time, on site accommodation, LAFHA and project uplift (15%) is provided. After that period you will transition back to head office in Brisbane and will be involved as a strategic part of the senior leadership team.
**Skills and Experience**
- A bachelor in Civil Engineering or Equivalent
- Previous experience working on road construction projects road, rail and civil projects would be highly regarded
- Tertiary qualification within either of the following disciplines; Engineering, Law, Commercial or Business coupled with at least 10 years' experience within a Commercial/Contract Management position within a similar industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organisation
- A sound knowledge of contractual requirements
