Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church, established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading and most respected co-educational independent schools. We are seeking a passionate, innovative and engaging and qualified Outdoor Education Instructor for a permanent position at our Lochend Campus commencing on the 21st July 2025. This position is primarily working with Year 8 students at our Lochend Outdoor Education site, which is near Portland overlooking Discovery Bay and Lake Bridgewater. You will also be required to work at our Chum Creek site for two weeks during the school year. The Outdoor Education program aims to link students to the natural world, through: * The use of vivid landscapes. * Teaching basic outdoor skills. * Encouraging environmental awareness and action. The role of the Outdoor Education Instructor is to support teaching staff in the efficient running of the Lochend Camp program. In making this appointment, the College is seeking applicants who, among other qualities, can demonstrate: * A desire and passion for working with groups of young people * Certificate IV in Outdoor Education * Qualifications and experience in a range of outdoor activities including bushwalking, challenge ropes programs and environmental activities * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with a broad range of people * Familiarity with computers and a high level of personal organisation. * The ability to prioritise work in a demanding and ever-changing environment Work will be undertaken across a variety of shifts and including sleepovers and other night work during campouts with the students.
