Firebox Australia
Accountancy Manager
Posted: 5 October
Offer description

Competitive Salary + Super + Monthly Bonus + Company Car

Location: Sydney/Central Coast

About Us

For over 20 years, Firebox Australia has been a leader in the design and manufacture of fire safety products, helping protect Australians in their homes, businesses, workplaces and vehicles. Supported by our service partners, our products meet the latest Australian Fire Safety Standards and include fire extinguishers, emergency and exit lighting, smoke alarms and fire plumbing products.

With five branches nationwide, Firebox supplies through preferred wholesalers and retail distributors, ensuring reliable coverage across Australia.

We are also dedicated to innovation. Since 2019, Firebox has been at the forefront of developing solutions for lithium-ion battery fire risks through our Li-ION Fire brand. This range includes extinguishers, fire blankets, detection cameras, under-car misting systems, suppression systems and induction systems, with further developments in battery management already underway.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a driven and customer-focused Account Manager to join our team, working between our Rydalmere and Beresfield branches. This full-time role reports directly to the Sales Director and carries responsibility for driving growth across an assigned territory.

You will combine new business development with expanding and maintaining relationships with our existing customer base, working directly with licensed fire contractors, wholesalers and industry partners. The role will involve a mix of office-based work, client site visits and field-based sales engagement where results are best achieved face to face.

While prior fire industry experience is an advantage, we place strong emphasis on the right attitude, professionalism and the ability to build long-term, trusted relationships.

The Challenge

Australian Standards do not yet formally recognise lithium-ion battery fire protection. This creates a unique opportunity for someone forward-thinking and resilient to make an impact by:

- Partnering with leadership to influence future product development.
- Consulting with industries to provide technical solutions to emerging fire risks.
- Supporting contractors with project design and specification of Li-ION solutions.
- Driving sales initiatives and creating recent opportunities with customers.

This role is best suited to someone with a technical background and consultative sales style, a professional who is confident challenging convention and leading the way in a changing industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Business Development: Proactively identify and qualify opportunities through prospecting, networking and lead generation.
- Sales Execution: Develop and implement strategies to close deals aligned with client needs and Firebox products.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, wholesalers and key decision-makers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and loyalty.
- Market Insights: Monitor and analyse industry trends, risks and opportunities to support product design and positioning.
- Technical Support: Provide consultative advice, explaining technical features and compliance benefits of Firebox products.
- Forecasting and Reporting: Provide regular updates and pipeline forecasts to leadership.
- Ethical Sales and Compliance: Ensure all sales activities align with Firebox’s ethical selling policy and industry compliance requirements.
- Standards and Emerging Risks: Stay informed on evolving Australian and international fire safety standards, particularly lithium-ion and EV fire risks, and share knowledge with clients and contractors.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings:

- Proven experience in technical sales or account management (fire safety, electrical, batteries, renewable energy, construction, HVAC, utilities or related industries).
- A strong track record in B2B sales with the ability to manage and grow long-term client relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A background in engineering, business or a technical field (preferred but not essential).
- Demonstrated ability to balance sales success with ethical integrity and compliance awareness.
- Resilience and adaptability in a competitive and changing market.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to self-manage, plan and deliver results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- A valid Australian driver’s licence.

What We Offer

- Competitive salary plus superannuation (commensurate with experience).
- Monthly performance bonus
- Fully maintained company car, laptop, phone and tools of trade.
- Ongoing support, training and mentoring from an experienced sales and leadership team.
- A collaborative, open and inclusive workplace where your ideas are valued.
- The opportunity to be part of a growing, innovative business leading the way in lithium-ion fire protection.
- Career stability in a strong and essential industry.
