**SIMPEC** are looking for an experienced **Permit to Work Coordinator** to join our site **HSE team.** Reporting to the** HSE Lead **and based locally at the **Kwinana CCL (Cockburn Cement) Upgrade Project**, this key position will work an ongoing Monday to Friday, 55-hour-week, and will be pivotal in driving and championing our **SIMSafe Culture** on site.
The **Greenfields CCL Project **is significant for the WA economy and will showcase the latest technologies in cement production, with the plant featuring a lower carbon footprint with CO2 emissions projected to reduce by up to 20% compared to existing operations.
**_ The Responsibilities?_**
- Provide visual leadership with respect to health and safety on site; promote, contribute, and comply with all site safety initiatives and procedures, and embrace the **SIMPEC SIMSafe** culture framework.
- Manage the **Permit to Work (PTW)** process efficiently and effectively, ensuring permits are completed correctly and clearly identify SOW and work locations.
- Ensure permit holder training is undertaken, and that permit registers are updated & maintained to track and record the type of permit(s) issued, the work area, work scope, and other details such as plant and equipment numbers if isolating equipment.
- Track the closure / relinquishing / reissuing of permits.
- Review new permit requests against current issued permits to identify any area conflicts / SimOps issues.
- Manage lock boxes associated with isolation permits.
- Review emergency rescue plans associated with permits for working at height, confined space entry, use of Manage to ensure they are acceptable and detail specific rescue requirements for the SOW.
- Undertake regular compliance checks to ensure all PTWs are current and compliant in the field.
- Carry out regular inspections of work areas to ensure correct isolations are in place and are functional in relation to the approved isolation permit.
- Identify improvements for the PTW system, and collaborate with the team around implementation.
- Strongly demonstrate and support the **SIMPEC values.**
**_ About You?_**
- You operate with and champion our **SIMSafe Culture Framework** and lead by example in this regard.
- You possess significant industry experience in managing permit to work systems.
- Hold a **qualification** within HSE (**Minimum of Cert IV**) and have previous experience in a **health & safety** role, ideally on large construction project, within the resources industry.
- With a strong understanding and solid working knowledge of HSE legislation and compliance requirements, you are able to discuss, influence and negotiate in these areas, and take a proactive, solutions driven approach to managing health and safety on site.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with a variety of stakeholder groups.
- With solid time-management skills, you are comfortable multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities, while remaining calm under pressure.
- Demonstrated experience in working to and meeting KPI's, deliverables, and targets.
- Confident and comfortable making informed decisions, you take ownership of tasks through to completion.
- Analytical, innovative and adaptable, you possess solid problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- High level of proficiency and expertise utilising Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular)
- Although not essential, it is highly regarded if you hold Incident investigation methodology (e.g., ICAM or Taproot), Training and Assessing (TAE40116), Injury management experience or qualifications, and an auditing qualification.
