About the Role
This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive paediatric services to patients at Latrobe Regional Health. The Paediatrician will provide both routine and emergency paediatric and neonatal care, while offering specialist consultative support to senior medical and emergency department staff. The role also includes involvement in the training, supervision, and development of medical and nursing staff, with opportunities to contribute to medical student education.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing a comprehensive range of neonatal, perinatal and paediatric services in the Women's and Children's Unit.
* Being available for on‐call services for paediatric and neonatal resuscitation, as well as being available to advise junior medical staff or attend for direct patient care.
* Providing paediatric outpatient services in general paediatrics and a subspecialist area where appropriately credentialed.
* Provide clinical leadership and supervision/teaching for junior medical staff, and other clinical staff.
About you
* Demonstrated clinical ability commensurate with that expected of a specialist paediatrician.
* Demonstrable interpersonal and negotiation skills at a high level.
* Adherence to safe practice standards and policies.
* High level decision‐making ability.
* MBBS or equivalent essential. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
* Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or similar.
