Responsibilities
As the Canteen Officer, you will maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions and conduct face to face sales canteen sales with detainees. This is a casual, site-based position at the Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre working rostered shifts Monday to Sunday.
Cooperate and communicate effectively and in a pro-social manner with other staff members, transferees, visitors, vendors and other stakeholders.
Use the Point-of-Sales system for receipt and issue of inventory.
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts (license advantageous not essential), pallet jacks and hand trucks physically and electronically receive, store and distribute goods and materials.
All aspects of inventory management, including rotation of inventory based in FIFO principles.
Conduct monthly counts of inventory and raise monthly replenishment requisitions to ensure that stock levels are sufficiently maintained.
Conduct quarterly stock takes and report any variances and reasons for variances to the Accountant or Finance and Administration Manager.
Qualifications
Previous experience working in retail or hospitality highly desirable.
High level customer service skills.
Ability to use POS and track inventory.
Ability to work part of a team.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Proven rights to work in Australia.
Ability to pass pre-employment checks such as Australian Federal Police Checks & Pre-employment Medical checks.
Hold a current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain).
Hold a current First Aid & CPR Check (or willing to obtain).
