Critical Care Registered Nurse
Job Overview:
This role is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive patient care and coordination of care provided by junior staff and students within the Critical Care environment.
* Direct Patient Care:
* Provides direct total patient care to patients to achieve identified outcomes in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures and Care Paths.
* Accountability and Legislation:
* Demonstrates knowledge of/and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability/responsibility for own actions.
* Interpersonal Relationships:
* Maintains and promotes harmonious interpersonal relationships and effective teamwork, between staff, patient, relative, doctors and ancillary staff.
* Assessment and Documentation:
* Assists and collaborates with team members in the assessment of allocated patients.
* Accurate and Timely Documentation:
* Ensures accurate and timely documentation.
* Communication and Teamwork:
* Communicates effectively with all members of care team and reports changes in patients' status to appropriate personnel.
* Discharge Planning:
* Initiates discharge planning on patients' admission to ensure appropriate use of all resources and the patient/family are well prepared for discharge.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
• A post-graduate qualification in critical care.
• Recent clinical experience within ED with resus and triage highly desirable.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to identify and solve problems.
• Commitment to quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
