Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal or Aircraft Structures technician or AME to manufacture a broad range of components, using various structures techniques such as: Metal forming/bending, composite manufacture/repair and general assembly tasks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong history in either Defence, aerospace or relevant industry. They will exhibit a strong quality focus, and have the ability to drive efficiency in their workload in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce high-quality and conforming products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production targets and maintain quality standards.
Assist in daily tasks to monitor inventory levels within department and coordinate with the production manager and team leads to ensure availability of materials and equipment.
Identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions.
Contribute to a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement within the team.
Favourable Qualifications and Skills:
- This position doesn't necessarily require any of the below, and we will consider transferable skills from other industries / trades
A high degree of competency in dealing with technical documentation.
Certificate IV in Aero skills or equivalent.
The ability to conduct aircraft manufacture/repair to the highest standards and to maintain records in accordance with the Company Procedures.
An aircraft welding ticket or welding ability will be looked upon favourably.
Demonstrable ability to supervise apprentices and unskilled staff.
Excellent communication and time-management skills .
Demonstrable experience with and ability to read drawings and technical data.
Additional Information:
This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Security Clearance due to the sensitive nature of the work involved.
