About Us
Havilah Inc operates across three aged care facilities in Maryborough: Harkness Street (110 residential aged care places, 9 independent living units + 24-bed extension in progress), Palmerston Street (32 residential aged care places and 44 independent living units), and The Terrace (24 residential care places). Boronia House (24 residential care places) is where this role is advertised for.
Your Role as Nurse Unit Manager
As NUM, you will lead a team of dedicated nurses and personal care staff to deliver person-centred, high-quality aged care. Your focus will be on clinical excellence, staff support, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the day-to-day clinical operations
Provide professional leadership and mentoring to care teams
Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, OHS, and organisational policies
Manage rosters, staff performance, and clinical documentation
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to support resident wellbeing
What We're Looking For
Strong leadership and decision-making skills
A proactive, compassionate approach to aged care
High-level clinical knowledge and a passion for mentoring staff
Ability to manage workload and drive continuous improvement
Key Selection Criteria
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Bachelor of Nursing qualification
Valid Police Check (within 2 months of applying) or willingness to obtain
Permanent residency or Australian citizenship (sponsorship not available)
Experience
Demonstrated experience in a leadership or nurse management role within aged care
Ability to manage clinical teams and foster a positive workplace culture
Strong skills in clinical documentation, reporting, and communication
Competence with aged care management systems and digital care platforms
Sound knowledge of OHS, infection control, and aged care compliance standards
Empathetic, professional, and values-driven
Collaborative mindset and a genuine desire to support residents and staff
