About the Position: Our client is looking for an Environment & Planning Lawyer (3–6 PAE) to join our clients' team in Brisbane as part of an integrated Environment & Planning practice within a broader Commercial Real Estate group. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety and wants to build deep expertise across a blend of advisory, transactional and strategic litigation work. You’ll be exposed to matters that directly support Australia’s energy and infrastructure pipeline, including: Planning and environmental approvals for wind, solar, pumped hydro and transmission projects Due diligence and risk allocation on acquisitions, disposals, leasing and project development Advice on contaminated land, remediation frameworks and environmental incident response Regulatory strategy, negotiations with regulators and stakeholder engagement Climate risk and sustainability issues (including reporting risk and “greenwashing” considerations) Environmental markets exposure (e.g., carbon-related arrangements and emerging schemes) Disputes work including judicial review/merits review style matters, enforcement and prosecutions (where relevant) You’ll be trusted with meaningful responsibility, supported by senior practitioners, and encouraged to develop a market profile through client contact and thought leadership. Key Requirements: 3–6 years’ PAE in environment and planning, major projects, or related regulatory practice Experience with approvals pathways, conditions compliance, and regulator negotiations Strong drafting skills (advices, submissions, contract mark-ups and correspondence) Confident communication style with clients and stakeholders Commercial mindset and the ability to manage competing deadlines Interest in the energy transition, infrastructure and complex developments Team-first approach, with a genuine desire to keep learning and step up On Offer: Our client offers a role that can accelerate your career in a high-calibre team, with exposure to matters that make the news and reshape the market.
