Ongoing, full time opportunity based in Werribee Contribute to community safety by applying practices that reduce reoffending Salary range of $100,894 - $114,476 plus superannuation Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connecting individuals to programs, services and community. CCS provides management of individuals on court orders, people who have committed serious sex offences on post sentence supervision and those on parole. About the role: Senior Parole Officers (SPOs) are responsible for delivering quality case management to a complex caseload of the highest priority individuals on parole - those who have committed serious sex offences or serious violent offences - under correctional supervision. SPOs will be required to work autonomously and ensure that the management of individuals on parole under their supervision are case managed in line with the Corrections Victoria Offender Management Framework. Key Responsibilities include: Effectively manage a complex caseload of the highest individuals who are subject to a Parole Order Apply sound professional judgement in the ongoing identification and assessment of individual risk, with a paramount consideration for community safety Interview, assess, refer and direct prisoners on parole to attend various programs, which may include specialized services, assessment and treatment programs Prepare and co-ordinate high quality reports to external and internal stakeholders including complex correspondence and briefings Undertake the installation of and maintenance of electronic monitoring equipment as well as conducting home visits About you: Knowledge of best practice case management frameworks and theoretical concepts to reduce risk and maximise individual outcomes Displays confidence and conviction when communicating an opinion and listens when ideas are challenged Accept changed priorities without undue discomfort Holds self and team accountable towards being inclusive to individuals from diverse backgrounds Resolves issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines Sees things from another's point of view to confirm understanding, motivations, needs and wants of stakeholders For more details on the position please review the position description attached or contact: Harley Houghton, Principal Practitioner on 0408 365 359 or via email at Harley.Houghton@justice.vic.gov.au Why work with us?
