Fine Chemicals Corporation requires the services of a highly competent and experienced Instrument Technician for our Engineering Department.

Overview
* The Instrument Technician plays a critical role in supporting the manufacturing operations at FCC by ensuring instruments, electronic systems and control systems Operational Technology- OT) are properly installed, maintained and upgraded in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
* This position involves both technical, supervisory and administrative responsibilities across various engineering activities.
Responsibilities
* Ensure instrumentation, electronic devices and general electrical equipment are maintained to a high standard of operation, reliability and safety.
* Maintain (including calibration) of control and automation systems (Operation Technology - OT) and instruments as per EMS program and GxP requirement.
* Ensure full compliance and execution of the company's maintenance programs, policies and procedures on all designated work.
* Set up and change OT as agreed with production or engineering.
* Co-ordination of relevant contractors and consultants for OT related breakdowns, maintenance and projects.
* Available for afterhours standby schedule for control and automation systems and instrument breakdowns and be available to respond to call-out timeously.
* Liaise with Aspen Group (GDT) regarding OT system maintenance, validation and projects.
* On a continuous basis, conduct upgrades and improvements on OT and related systems, to eliminate downtime, improve efficiency and prevent obsolescence.
* Perform relevant administrative functions.
Skills Required
Background/Experience
* A formal trade certificate as an Instrument Mech / Tech + N6 electrical engineering or equivalent (N Dip/ B-Tech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering).
* 3 years' experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in Pharmaceutical, Chemical or FMCG industries. Experience of working in hazardous areas (Atex) would be advantageous.
* Experience with ABB 800xA system and SAP In2Rep would be advantageous.
