About the Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and S, you will develop and maintain the occupational health framework.
As a leader, you'll deliver key occupational health management capabilities: injury management, return-to-work plans, fitness for work, psychosocial hazards, risk management.
You'll lead, coach, guide and mentor the Occupational Health Team.
Your expertise will be instrumental in enabling teams to manage injuries effectively, facilitate returns to work, conduct fitness assessments, and mitigate psychosocial hazards.
You'll also provide guidance to staff and managers navigating health challenges, contributing to Babcock's HSEQ strategy through health monitoring programs, ergonomic assessments, and medical evaluations.
Contract: 3 month Fixed-Term
Responsibilities
Spearhead injury management and return-to-work strategies.
Provide expert guidance on injury prevention and health management.
Deliver occupational health management capabilities – injury management, return-to-work plans, fitness for work, psychosocial hazards, risk management.
Lead, coach, guide and mentor the Occupational Health Team.
Facilitate fitness assessments and medical evaluations.
Contribute to Babcock's broader HSEQ strategy via health monitoring programs, ergonomic assessments, and more.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Exercise Physiology, Sport Science or related field.
Experience in an Injury Management and Health and Safety role in a similar industry.
Cert IV in Safety or hygiene experience.
In-depth knowledge of injury management legislation, regulations, and best practices.
Current First Aid Certificate and strong workplace health & safety principles.
Australian citizenship with Defence security clearance (or ability to obtain).
