As the Platform Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for driving innovation and excellence in software engineering practices. You will champion best practices, lead a high-performing team, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver value-driven solutions.
* Define and communicate a clear technical vision aligned with strategic goals.
* Lead, mentor, and support a diverse group of engineers to achieve individual and team goals.
* Drive modernisation initiatives in web development, including legacy application modernisation.
* Collaborate with product, architecture, and business teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
* Ensure high coding standards through regular code reviews and best practice adoption.
* Plan and manage departmental resources, risks, and initiatives in line with strategic objectives.
* Champion Agile, DevOps, and modern software engineering practices.
* Oversee cloud migration strategies and implementation of scalable, cost-efficient solutions.
* Lead innovation on the ServiceNow platform and integrate AI/ML into applications responsibly.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure services meet business and customer needs.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with significant experience in software engineering and leadership.
* Demonstrated experience in leading teams and delivering complex software projects.
* Significant experience in AI/ML technologies and integrating them into applications.
* Strong expertise in legacy system modernisation and web development frameworks.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
* In-depth knowledge of web development technologies, including modern .NET frameworks.
* Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation.
* Solid understanding of ServiceNow architecture and enterprise integrations.
