About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lawyer/Associate or Senior Associate to join our well-regarded Administrative Law team. Working alongside Partners Mark Henry and Angela Barac, this role will work within a team of high performing lawyers in undertaking merits review for a Commonwealth Government agency.

This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team and assist in the supervision of a high performing practice. Day to day you will have the following responsibilities:

* Finalising litigation strategies and statements of issues
* Conducting directions hearings and case conferences
* Managing substantive hearings
* Solicitor advocacy at hearings and finalising briefs to Counsel
* Undertaking complex statutory interpretation.

About you

In order to be considered for this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

* At least 3 - 4+ years post qualification experience, ideally with experience in government advisory work and litigation.
* Strong solicitor advocacy experience and expertise.
* Experience mentoring team members with excellent communication skills and a collegiate approach.
* You may have a background of working in government and be keen to make your first move into a law firm. Alternatively, you will be doing similar work in another firm and looking for a new opportunity.
