Our client, Australian Solar Designs Pty Ltd, delivers cost-effective solar solutions to commercial, industrial, and government clients across Australia, supporting reduced energy costs and sustainable outcomes.
The company is seeking a full-time Engineering Technologist to analyse technical requirements, respond to client enquiries, and deliver practical engineering solutions for solar energy systems, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and cost-efficiency standards.
The successful candidate will apply knowledge of electrical and renewable energy systems to solve complex problems and support system design and optimisation. This is an immediate start role requiring the ability to work both independently and within a team.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's degree with minimum two years' relevant experience
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the design and development of solar panel, inverter, and battery systems, ensuring efficiency, safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
* Investigate product and system issues, analyse data, and provide engineering solutions for repair, modification, or improvement
* Review and analyse the CEC listing & compliances of the various Inverter & Battery Brands and its compliant installations for the complete BESS configuration systems
* Review the official tender and send the solar quotations to our residential & commercial entities, to meet our deadlines of the clients on time
* Analyse and assess existing technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
* Engage with clients to understand their energy requirements and develop customised solar solutions aligned with their operational and financial objectives
* Conduct testing and validation of systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
* Analyse customer feedback and optimise solutions based on real-world performance
* Monitor system operation and maintenance processes to ensure efficiency and safety
* Identify opportunities for innovation and technological advancement
* Stay updated with emerging trends and developments in solar and renewable energy technologies
* Conduct research to support design improvements and implementation of new technologies
* Ensure all procedures comply with engineering standards and regulatory requirements
* Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams, to ensure successful project delivery
* Develop and test prototypes prior to full-scale implementation
* Oversee installation processes to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety practices
Skills, Experience and Attributes
* Minimum four years of experience in solar energy systems
* Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and engineering principles
* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver innovative solutions
* Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Experience in 2D/3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and support production processes
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
