The Opportunity
As a Subcontracts Specialist, you will assist Senior Subcontracts Specialists in administering, managing and maintaining subcontracts according to our policies and procedures.
You will also provide advice to management and staff on contractual matters for existing subcontracts and new business opportunities. The Subcontracts Specialist helps manage and mitigate contractual and commercial business risk for us.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare, negotiate, interpret and execute contract instruments to protect our position.
2. Ensure proposed commitments reflect intended contractual outcomes and are acceptable in terms of statement of work, schedule, pricing, payment arrangements, legal and contractual obligations, risk management or allocation, and export/import compliance.
3. Administer subcontracts to ensure proper control and execution, including organisational compliance with established policies, procedures, contractual obligations and audit requirements.
4. Assist with establishing adequate risk management or allocation plans and take necessary steps to enforce our rights under each contract.
5. Ensure we conduct contractual business in compliance with all Export and Import Control requirements.
6. Assist in maintaining a register of subcontract information and provide for safekeeping of all original contractual instruments.
7. Develop and maintain pro-forma documents per procedures and direction, and configure control of all such precedents.
8. Develop, promulgate, train on and adhere to assigned policies and procedures.
9. Apply company policies and risk assessments to liability, indemnity, insurance, IP and warranty issues amongst other matters and provide advice, recommendations and analysis.
Experience/Qualification
* Tertiary qualification in a law or business-related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in contract/subcontract management and administration.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while working to schedule commitments.
* Ability to work accurately and unsupervised and ability to prioritise work as required and manage external/internal resources.
* Proven ability to work in a busy team environment.
* Proven ability to display a positive and flexible attitude self-motivated and efficient.
* Demonstrate ability to meet and adhere to critical deadlines.
* Strong computer literacy including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
* Eligibility for an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
