Tourism and Visitor Experience Coordinator

This position is an ‘Identified’ role, indicating a strong involvement with issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The successful applicant must understand these issues and communicate effectively and sensitively with Indigenous communities.


About Us

Parks Australia manages six national parks, the Australian National Botanic Gardens, 60 Marine Parks, and the Heard Island and McDonald Islands Marine Reserve, supporting conservation and cultural sharing efforts.

The CFO and Corporate Services branch provides essential corporate support, including Assurance, Governance, Communication, Marketing, Tourism, Procurement, Property, Security, and IT services. The Communication, Marketing and Tourism Section collaborates across divisions and with Traditional Owners and stakeholders to deliver media, marketing, e-commerce, tourism policy, and destination planning activities.


Key Responsibilities

1. Contribute to the development and implementation of tourism and visitor experience policies, projects, and strategies.
2. Support strategic tourism planning and policy development.
3. Assist in managing commercial tourism activities, including authorizations.
4. Prepare visitor insights reports from survey data, ticketing, and other sources.
5. Draft documentation such as briefs, reports, correspondence, minutes, and agendas.
6. Collaborate with park-based staff and a range of internal and external stakeholders.
