Overview
We are currently seeking a graduate fire safety engineer to join our team in Hobart. The successful candidate will work directly with the company's director on unique fire engineering projects across all parts of the state.
Prior experience in fire safety engineering is not a prerequisite. We would like to hear from you if you are a new graduate in any engineering discipline, a practising engineer in another field of engineering (e.g., structural, mechanical or similar) or a fire safety engineer with a few years of experience. We believe a diversity of skillsets and experience is important in maximising the value we provide to clients.
Responsibilities
- Undertaking fire safety and bushfire design for various types of building projects.
- Attending client meetings and site inspections around Tasmania.
- Review of architectural and building services designs for fire safety compliance.
- Provision of fire engineering advice and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- CFD modelling, zone modelling, evacuation modelling and bushfire modelling to support fire safety design solutions. No prior experience in modelling is required, as all will be taught as part of the role.
- Preparation and quality checking of fire engineering briefs and reports.
- Review fire engineering research and develop fire safety engineering software.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (near completion will also be considered).
- Be willing to further develop themselves and attain fire engineering qualifications.
- Knowledge of fundamental engineering principles - eg mathematics and physics.
- Driver's license and own car.
- Applicants must be Australia-based and have permanent residency.
