Public Sector People are working with a council to recruit a Transport Planner for a part time temporary contract assignment.
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Transport Planner with project management experience to join their team for a 3-month part time contract (21 hours per week).
You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of strategic transport initiatives, coordinating investigations and contributing to transport planning projects aligned with Council's Integrated Transport Strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting transport planning strategies, policies and investigations
* Coordinating and delivering transport-related projects
* Assisting with grant-funded and strategic transport initiatives
* Preparing reports, briefings and recommendations for internal stakeholders
* Managing stakeholder and community engagement activities
* Liaising with government agencies, consultants and internal departments
* Supporting procurement, consultant management and project delivery
* Monitoring project timelines, risks and budgets
About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Relevant qualifications in Transport Planning, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
* Previous experience working within Local Government traffic and transport teams
* Strong knowledge of transport planning, traffic management and strategic transport projects
* Demonstrated project management experience across planning and delivery phases
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
* Experience preparing reports, policies and strategic recommendations
