Job Description
Security controller role:
Shift Timings: Rotational Day and Night - 6AM to 6PM / 6PM to 6AM 4 on 4 off
People Protection: Ensuring the safety of all firm's personnel, including travelers and those attending events.
Physical Security: Guaranteeing that the firm's facilities provide a safe and secure environment for both employees and visitors.
Fire Life Safety: Implementing effective systems and processes to minimize the impact of fire and other life safety events.
Crisis Management: Monitoring and minimizing threats to the firm's people, reputation, and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight: Provide comprehensive support for the day-to-day operations of the site and team, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
System Management and Maintenance: Proactively execute daily system checks, monitor security systems, and efficiently manage and resolve identified issues.
This includes clear and timely communication with relevant stakeholders to ensure optimal system performance.
Training and Preparedness: Participate in Standard Operating Procedure training and drills, to uphold the highest standards of readiness and response.
Safety and Crisis Management: Demonstrate commitment to ensuring the safety of all personnel and effective crisis management, including the ability to lead and take initiative during critical situations.
Incident Response and Documentation: Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, documenting all actions taken and producing accurate, timely reports for post-incident analysis and compliance.
Incident Management
During an incident, Security Controllers are expected to perform a series of critical actions to effectively manage and mitigate potential threats, ensuring the safety of personnel and the continuity of business operations.
These expectations are integral to the firm's incident management framework.
Key expectations for Security Controllers during an incident include:
Identification: Controllers are responsible for accurately identifying the nature and scope of an incident.
This involves a comprehensive review of all available information, including alarm details, CCTV footage, incoming phone calls, and other relevant resources.
Escalation: Timely and appropriate escalation.
Controllers must promptly inform relevant stakeholders who are responsible for specific elements of the incident.
This ensures that all necessary parties are aware and can contribute to a coordinated response, following established escalation protocols.
Response: Controllers are mandated to respond to all incidents with immediate and effective action.
This includes establishing the "ground truth" of the situation and deploying relevant resources to address the threat.
Control: Managing the incident effectively is a core responsibility, with the highest priority given to people's safety and minimizing business impact.
Recovery: Following an incident, Controllers are expected to ensure thorough documentation of all actions taken and comprehensive incident reporting.
This includes creating an appropriate timeline of events and outcomes, which is crucial for post-incident analysis, compliance, and continuous improvement of security protocols.

Position Requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
Certificate II in Security Operations.
Current VIC Security License.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Background Clearance, including financial, employment, residential, identification, and criminal history checks.
Full Time Position - $***** Per hour .
Please note this is a position with day and night rotational shifts : 6AM -6PM / 6PM-6AM including weekends and public holidays
