Senior Legal Professional

We are seeking an experienced senior legal professional to lead our team in delivering high-quality legal services to a diverse range of clients. As the Principal Solicitor, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of our legal services, providing expert advice and casework, and supervising a team of solicitors, social workers, and non-legal staff.

* This is a 12-month temporary maternity leave position, with a salary of $122,665.13 per annum plus 17.5% leave loading.

The successful candidate will have:

1. A strong background in complex litigation and people management, with experience in risk management, compliance, and quality assurance.
2. Demonstrated ability to consider the impact of their work on clients and stakeholders.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to vulnerable clients.

About the Role

The Principal Solicitor will be responsible for:

1. Leading complex casework and strategic litigation.
2. Providing legal supervision and mentoring to staff.
3. Identifying opportunities for growth and improvement aligned with our strategic goals.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. An unrestricted Practicing Certificate.
2. Relevant post-admission experience, including complex litigation and people management.
3. Experience in risk management, compliance, and quality assurance.
4. Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Benefits

We offer a generous salary package, 35-hour week paid at 38 hours, 15 days Personal Leave, and additional paid leave over the Christmas shutdown period.
